PRINT PREFLIGHT CHECKLIST Project: ____________________ File: _______________________ Finished size / units: ____________________ Provider specification: ____________________ [ ] Source file: Use the original or final full-resolution export, and record its actual width and height in pixels. [ ] Finished size: Confirm width, height, units and portrait or landscape orientation against the product specification. [ ] Visible opening: Check whether a frame lip, mat, fold or binding reduces the area the viewer will see. [ ] Crop or borders: Choose fit or fill and inspect faces, text and important details near every edge. [ ] Effective PPI: Calculate density at the final placement size after cropping; compare with the provider’s requirement. [ ] Bleed and safe area: Use the provider’s specified allowances. Keep trim, outside bleed and the inside safe area separate. [ ] File format: Confirm the lab accepts the exported format; calculator support is not a printer compatibility list. [ ] Color instructions: Follow the provider’s profile and color-handling instructions; dimension checks do not inspect color. [ ] Saved export: Reopen the actual saved file and verify its dimensions, orientation, edges and visible artifacts. [ ] Print settings: Check paper, scaling and any automatic borderless enlargement. Avoid applying an unintended second fit. [ ] Proof: For important work, inspect an appropriate proof at the intended scale before ordering the full run. [ ] Handoff record: Keep the exact export, specification, crop decision and numerical calculation with your order notes. A planning worksheet, not print approval. Verify the actual exported file and provider requirements.
